Over the last week we (a group of students at DAIMI) have been working on finishing a nifty calendar utility for students at Aarhus University.

The tools for checking  / viewing your course schedule is rather limited, all you really get is a list of the courses you are attending over the next half year and in which weeks there are lectures etc., there is no real calendar (read week/month view) interface, just this “plain” list. The aim of this utility is thus to translate said list into a universal Calendar format, for which we have chosen iCal as most calendar systems support this.

So what this nifty tool gives you, is an easy way to receive a iCal formatted file with your schedule for the next half year, which you can directly import into your favorite Calendar software (personally I use Google Calendar, which has no problem importing the generated .ics files).

The tool comes in two flavors, you can either access it as a web application or download it as a command line utility (whichever suits your personal taste), both versions takes as input your student number (årskort) and outputs an iCal file with your schedule ready to import.
